I had seen other companies create animated portraits, using framed flat televisions at the haunt trade shows... but I wanted to evolve the idea into something custom to help set the tone and story for the first scene in Legends.  The result is this video fx, created in-house, paird with an animated cremation urn and series of air jets hidden in the architecture of the fireplace mantel.  In the video, you'll notice the urn shaking, just before Mr. Ashdown seems to come through the painting.  The air jets release a burst of air, right as Mr. Ashdown appears, providing the guests a tactile experience with the visuals.
